Pressure Grouting
Visible surface settlement is often an indicator of a deeper problem. Florida's sandy soils and limerock base create special construction challenges for residential homeowners and commercial developers. Florida's heat, hurricanes, humidity and rainfall cause the limerock to expand and contract as it becomes wet and then dry. Over time, the limerock base can become brittle causing collapse and resulting in anything from minor surface settlement to significant sinkhole activity. Cement Grouting is a cost effective way to remedy many of these settlement problems.
There are several types of Cement Grouting Methods:
- Compaction Grouting - Injection of cement grout under pressure
increasing soil density through displacement.
- Jet Grouting - A mixing technology where a high pressure jet mixes
cement with the underlying soils.
- Pressure Grouting - Injection of grout under pressure to fill
voids.
Cement Grouting is considered the most frequently used method of remedy
for serious foundation seepage, filling underground voids, increasing
the bearing capacity of soil beneath a foundation and stabilizing soil
for foundation use.
Process for Resolving Stabilization Matters:
- Contact your homeowner's Insurance Agent to discuss the settlement
issues
- Obtain a Geotechnical Report from a geotechnical engineer that
identifies the source of the problem and recommends method of remedy
- Contact JNP to remedy the identified problem
